How shall i decorate my bathroom?

I have a white suite, but i am happy to change the taps, which are currenlty crappy silver ones! There is one large window, and another window outside the bathroom door but its not brilliantly light in there. I need tiles and paint and a blind or something, the floor is grey/black. I am on a budget so cannot have massivly expensive things. I am not tiling my whole bathroom, just the length and width of my bath and around the sink and basin...any ideas for something simple/clean and nice? Also as i have a good combi boiler can i get away with a mixer shower/bath tap and can you get ones with long shower heads that i can put higher up the wall so i can stand and have a shower?

Go for plain tiles and silver taps are class look in charity shops for a nice pIEce ie picture or some kind of knickknack, a brightly coloured bath rug and bright towels look great also a chair with a funky cushion, blue glass bottles jars etc just shop around the charity shops and you will find some marvellous finds.

hiya, it all depends on what tast you have but i was on a budget when i decorated my bathroom and i painted it all white as my bathroom suit was white then i brought lots of hot pink accesories like a shower curtain, towels, bathmat, soap dispenser, candles etc and it looks really nice, people always comment on how nice and fresh it looks. its very girlie but quite clasy aswell and its quite easy to get the hot pink coloured acessories in the shops now, they even do some in primark and bhs. goodluck :)
Personally, I'd go for clean lines, and white tiles. The colour of the walls depends on your preferance, a nice calm colour is good. As for the shower/bath taps, watch your water pressure. My neighbour has one of these and says they are hopeless!
I'd use large plain white tiles, maybe with a glass mosaic border (in black and grey) running through them. The current trend is for big, rectified tiles, in a matt finish. Alternatively, as a cheaper alternative to the glass border you could run a chrome trim through the tiles instead, just to break up the white, but if you're not tiling everywhere then it isn't strictly neccessary to break it up anyway. Avoid mosaics all over, unless you like cleaning grout.

Stick with good chrome tapware, in a fairly modern design. Gold is tacky and doesn't last as long.

You should be able to run most bath shower mixers on a combi boiler just fine. Bear in mind though that when somebody in the kitchen switches on a tap, a toilet in another room is flushed, or a washing machine is running, the shower will loose pressure and go really hot or really cold. This is unfortunate, but there's not much you can do about it apart from cooperate with housemates so nobody uses the water while somebody is in the shower. Some really good combis (ie big, expensive ones) are able to compensate for this, so it might not be a problem. Whatever you do though don't buy an electric shower, they're awful and the shower will be nowhere near as good as from a combi boiler.

For tapware I strongly recommend Eurobath (www.eurobath.co.uk). Their stuff is really good quality, but is not appallingly overpriced. On the bath, a WG spacekit (these are brilliant even on low pressure systems; I've got one) and a Meteor deck mounted bath shower mixer CHP12251/L should be ideal for you, and would work on most combi boilers. Alternatively you could use normal bath taps, and have a separate shower mixer on the wall. For the basin taps, pretty much any of their ranges would work fine.

By the way, for the record, I don't work for Eurobath! I used to sell bathrooms though, and found that the quality of their stuff is as good as even the most expensive kit, but is much better value.

If you're on a really tight budget use a shower curtain over the bath, which is an easy and cheap way to add a bit of colour to the room. Don't bother with a glass shower screen; they're either expensive but good quality, or cheap but crap.
